AA Preamble

Alcoholics Anonymous is a fellowship of men and women who share their experience, strength and hope with each other that they may solve their common problem and help others to recover from alcoholism. The only requirement for membership is a desire to stop drinking. There are no dues or fees for A.A. membership; we are self-supporting through our own contributions. AA is not allied with any sect, denomination, politics, organization or institution; does not wish to engage in any controversy; neither endorses nor opposes any causes. Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other alcoholics to achieve sobriety. Reprinted with permission of the A.A. Grapevine, Inc.

About District 54

District 54 is a geographical unit made up of AA groups in the northern section of the Dallas Metroplex. District 54 is part of the North East Texas Area (NETA). Our district presently includes 26 AA groups, consisting of most of the Dallas groups north of Forest Lane and groups located in Carrolton, Garland, Richardson, Rowlett, and Sachse. All AA members are welcome to attend the meeting and provide input, although each group’s designated representative (General Service Representative) votes on behalf of the group conscience. The meetings are the first Sunday of every month at 2:00 PM. The meeting is hosted by a different group each month.
